COVID-19 Update 17/03/2020

As we are sure you are all aware the situation with Coronavirus in the UK is changing very rapidly and in light of the most recent advice from the UK Government we have today suspended all of our group services and closed our café at Safeharbour, Coldharbour Road, Northfleet. At Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services, we take the health and safety of people living with dementia, our staff and the wider community very seriously and are now working with the people who need us to identify how we can support them over this very difficult time. We are going to ensure people can access telephone or email support from us and our Care Workers will be working tirelessly to ensure those who need home visits will still receive them.

Visiting You

We recognise that many of the people who need us will continue to need us to support them in their own homes and we working hard to ensure we can deliver the service that everyone requires. We have very experienced staff who are fully trained in relation to infection control. They will have already been undertaking best practice measures as part of their everyday duties. These include:

  • Wearing gloves – changing them frequently for different tasks
  • Washing their hands correctly and frequently
  • Using hand sanitiser gels
  • Waste disposal
  • Notifying management of any illness in advance of visits

We are also working to the guidance provided by the government specifically for health care workers. This describes how we should handle any known or potential contact with the virus as well as how we take precautions such as self-isolation. The full guidance can be found here:

If you or anyone you know is in need of support or you have any further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office by phone or by email. Tel: 01474 533990 Email:
