Emergency Coronavirus Appeal Donate Fundraise Will you help us to support people affected by dementia during this time of difficulty? Firstly, we would like to say that we sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are in good health. At Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services we are following the advice of the Government and Public Health England and have implemented measures to protect the people we support as well as our staff and volunteers. As of 17/03/2020 we have suspended all our group services including support groups, The Beacon day support and closed Safeharbour Cafe. With the loss of income these measures generate we are at risk of being unable to support people affected by dementia. Now, more than ever, our service is a lifeline to people affected by dementia. The support we offer can also reduce the increasing pressure on our NHS as we guide people that are concerned about their health and wellbeing. If you are in a position to do so, please will you consider helping us to continue supporting people affected by dementia through this incredibly difficult period, by giving just £5 today? We are now working with the people who need us to identify how we can support them over this very difficult time. We are going to ensure people can access telephone or email support from us and our Care Workers will be working tirelessly to ensure those who need home visits will still receive them. After some successful trials over the last couple of weeks, we are now working to deliver as many of our support groups as we can virtually. This enables people to continue accessing support and to remain connected with their peers. Inevitably with the loss of income from suspended services and our new interventions being implemented, this will place a considerable strain on our resources which is why we are turning to you, as a supporter of Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services, today. Now may be a time we need you more than ever, we’re hoping we can count on you.
